Green Bottle Book
It's safe to post these now, because the recipients of these particular things have already opened them. There's a flatback-bound book, with a hand-embroidered bottle on the front that I made for my dad. There's also my brother's felt hand-sewn dragon. Isn't he cute? I also crocheted a hedgehog for my mom, and I swear I took pictures, but they have disappeared. (Hint, hint, mom! I'm still waiting for all the pictures of the art you have, including the stuff I made for dad and Nate - I'm putting together a portfolio). :)

Hats for Sale!
Here's some pics of the hats that I have for sale at Mountainworks. Yay! The closeup of the tag is made of Shrinky Dink plastic, my new favorite toy. Isn't the bunny butt cute? It's a stamp I have. Hopefully I'll be able to make myself a hat soon, because all of the ones I've made so far I've put in the shop. Oh, well. The life of a crafter.

YARN!!!!
This is my first handspun ball of yarn. It's bright purple, of course. I spun it with a hand spindle, from store-bought roving. Someday I'd like to have my own rabbits to harvest it from, and hand-dye it and everything, but for now I suppose that I'll have to stick to the stuff from the store. :)

Annette and Lizza
Finally, a new post! Sorry to any loyal fans out there, however few there may be. :)
These are two dolls that I've recently made. Annette has the brown crinkly hair, and Lizza is the blonde. Annette was made first, and I embroidered her face, which took forever, so I painted Lizza's face to see if I liked it better. I don't, but that's okay. They're both cute. I plan to do more manga-style dolls soon.

A Very Shy Bunny
These are a few of my first attempts at making stuffed animals. I'm still working on what works best, and some things don't work well at all. They're all cute enough, in their own way, but I still haven't hit upon the magic combination of the right pattern, cloth, filling, and face. The first two are cats, but the second one doesn't have a tail, just a little shirt. The third is perhaps my most successful so far, but he's very shy. He doesn't think that he came out right at all, so he likes to hide in the shadows. His ears are adorable, though.

Chocolate Milk
This is a cool picture that I took one night at Ihop. It was late, and I had just gotten my camera that morning, so I was taking lots of pictures. In case you couldn't tell, it's a close-up of my glass of chocolate milk. If you enlarge it and look closely, you'll see the reflection of my camera! Haha!

granny blankets
I have a couple of granny square blankets I'm working on right now. Here's a picture of the one I started today. I was inspired when I bought a box full of yarn ends, etc from ebay, and I'm having fun picking out the colors. I'm not sure what I'll do with it... Maybe it'll end up large enough for our bed! I'm also working on a light and dark blue one, but I don't currently have any pictures. It's a lot bigger than this started one, and I think it might be a baby blanket.

Coolest Tiny Crochets!
This is the coolest miniature blanket, done in granny squares. Here's a link to see the other cool little items. I've made tiny hats before, but I've given them all away. I'll try to make a few more and put them on, because they're really cute!

New Blog
This will now be my crafty blog, and princessgreeneyesandherpets.blogspot.com will be my pets/family/life blog. I realize a switchover like this will likely rattle some people, but I'm sure we can all adjust under the pressure. :) I'm not sure if I can transfer blogs from handmade to princess, but if I can't, the world will still go on.
Mango
Mango has been a little turkey lately, and I believe that I've figured out why. He's just over a year, and he's been pretty cranky. He used to love to sit on my shoulder for hours and chirp at me, but now he doesn't want much to do with me. I think he's hit bird puberty. He's looking around for a girlfriend. I've got a teenage lovebird on my hands, and I hope he gets over it soon. :) I've considered trying to breed him, but first I'd need more space, time, and money, so that won't be for a while. Oh, well. Maybe it's just a small taste of what it will be like to have human teenage children. :P

Purple Hair
Here's me with purple hair... What do you guys think? :)
Word of the Whenever:
Purple... Purple robes were a mark of dignity among the ancient Greeks and Romans and were worn by kings, magistrates and military commanders, hence purple became a symbol of luxury and power. It was obtained from shellfish... and the deep color was termed purpura (from the name of one of these molluscs).

Skeet and Mango
Adam has forbidden the use of clothing on our cats, but sometimes I can't help myself, at least for a minute or two. Mango was trying to make friends with Skeet by jumping on his back, but Skeet was too disgruntled by the shirt to notice.
Word of the Whenever:
Pigeon's milk. Partly digested food, regurgitated by pigeons for their young, also a nonexistent liquid that gullible children and April Fools are sometimes sent to fetch.

Coming Out of the Closet
Here's a picture of Skeet, taking a nap in my armoire. :D Any time I leave the door open, he's in there. He loves small spaces, especially a blanket tent or a box. He's a funny cat.
Alright, word of the whenever:
Echidna (Greek ekhidna, 'viper'). In classical mythology a celebrated monster, who is half woman, half-serpent and is also mother of the chimera, the two-headed dog Orthos, the hundred-headed dragon of the Hesperides, the Colchian dragon, the sphinx, Cerberus, Scylla, the Gorgons, the Lernean hydra, the vulture that ate the liver of Prometheus and the Nemean Lion...
In zoology an echidna is a spine-covered anteater, allied to the platypus, found in Austrailia, Tasmania and New Guinea.
