Hearts for Haiti

You should definitely check out http://heartsforhaiti.etsy.com. It's an online shop that features handmade wonders, with all proceeds to go to Doctors Without Borders. I recently put up these wrist warmers, which sold the day they were posted.

Organized Ribbon Box

I can't find the picture I took of the ribbon box before I organized it, but it was messy. I don't have a ton of ribbon, but I've been trying to organize all of my craft things. The ribbon was untangled, then wrapped around pieces of scrap framing mat board that I cut (I got a bunch of it when I worked in a craft store). Secure it with a pin, and the box looks much better!

Sundance Booth

Here's some pics of my very first booth! Actually, the first one is a picture of the cool display I found at DI for $5 (for good reason, as you can see). We cleaned it up and painted it, and now I think it looks rather dashing!
It was drizzly while we set up, but we had every expectation of it clearing up. It didn't. About 11:30, there was a real storm, blowing our canopy over and soaking the merchandise. This happened to several other vendors as well, and everyone immediately started packing up. Oh, well. There's another fair in September, and I'll be putting more things up in my booth, like my books.

Tatting Class

Hello! I recently took a lace tatting class from The Mad Tatter. Here are the things that I made in his class, and hopefully over the summer I'll be able to make an edging for a sheer light green curtain that's hanging in our living room. I'll post pictures when I pick a pattern and as I go along. It will probably take quite a while... Each medallion took me about an hour to do, and I'll need at least 20 feet of edging.

Green Bottle Book

It's safe to post these now, because the recipients of these particular things have already opened them. There's a flatback-bound book, with a hand-embroidered bottle on the front that I made for my dad. There's also my brother's felt hand-sewn dragon. Isn't he cute? I also crocheted a hedgehog for my mom, and I swear I took pictures, but they have disappeared. (Hint, hint, mom! I'm still waiting for all the pictures of the art you have, including the stuff I made for dad and Nate - I'm putting together a portfolio). :)

Hats for Sale!

Here's some pics of the hats that I have for sale at Mountainworks. Yay! The closeup of the tag is made of Shrinky Dink plastic, my new favorite toy. Isn't the bunny butt cute? It's a stamp I have. Hopefully I'll be able to make myself a hat soon, because all of the ones I've made so far I've put in the shop. Oh, well. The life of a crafter.

Haruo

This is my first 'sweater monster'. Isn't he cute? His name is Haruo, which means 'springtime man' in Japanese.

YARN!!!!

This is my first handspun ball of yarn. It's bright purple, of course. I spun it with a hand spindle, from store-bought roving. Someday I'd like to have my own rabbits to harvest it from, and hand-dye it and everything, but for now I suppose that I'll have to stick to the stuff from the store. :)

Annette and Lizza

Finally, a new post! Sorry to any loyal fans out there, however few there may be. :)
These are two dolls that I've recently made. Annette has the brown crinkly hair, and Lizza is the blonde. Annette was made first, and I embroidered her face, which took forever, so I painted Lizza's face to see if I liked it better. I don't, but that's okay. They're both cute. I plan to do more manga-style dolls soon.

A Tea Tray

This was put together using matching plates and matching cups. I got the idea somewhere online, but I haven't had the chance to use the one I made yet. It's perfect for serving up little cookies or other yummy things.

A Very Shy Bunny

These are a few of my first attempts at making stuffed animals. I'm still working on what works best, and some things don't work well at all. They're all cute enough, in their own way, but I still haven't hit upon the magic combination of the right pattern, cloth, filling, and face. The first two are cats, but the second one doesn't have a tail, just a little shirt. The third is perhaps my most successful so far, but he's very shy. He doesn't think that he came out right at all, so he likes to hide in the shadows. His ears are adorable, though.

Miniatures

Here are a few pictures of some Dungeons and Dragons miniature terrain that I've recently made. Please excuse the back of the fence with the house... the rats got a hold of it! The little person is one of my favorite pewter miniatures. She's only about an inch tall.
